June 2019 Rowing Camp

Introduction

This rowing camp runs from June 2, 2019 to June 7, 2019. The price includes three rowing sessions per day including video review and rowing data analysis, 5 hotel nights including breakfast, lunch at the rowing venue, a “rowing with data” workshop, fireworks show, a wine tasting excursion, and a closure party at the rowing venue.

Each rowing day (Monday to Friday), there will be two rowing sessions with coaches in launches and one individual session. In the morning session, your stroke will be filmed. After this session, coaches are available at the club house to do technique analysis with you using the video and rowing data.

This camp takes place during the week of the famous Ignis Brunensis fireworks festival. On Wednesday, you will have the opportunity to experience the fireworks show from the exclusive location at the rowing club or from the Panorama terrace at the hotel.

Rowing Data

We will have Quiske sensors and Empower Oarlocks with NK SpeedCoach available. The Empower/SpeedCoach combination measures your catch angle, finish angle, force curve, power, and other parameters. The Quiske pod measures the boat acceleration and oar angles. Combined with video analysis, this is a powerful way to analyse technique, find opportunities for improving boat speed. Doing the analysis will give you target metrics to focus on during the subsequent sessions. The direct feedback in the boat allows you to double the technique improvements you can achieve in one week, compared to conventional coaching.

Each morning, we will pick you up with a minivan and bring you to the rowing club, but you can also choose to go on foot, a pleasant 1km, 10 to 15 minute hike (or bring your bike).

The camp fee includes:

  • Room with breakfast in the Panorama Restaurant
  • Access to hotel Wellness facilities (sauna, swimming pool)

Primátorky Races (Prague)

From June 7 to June 9, the Primátorky Regatta will be held in Prague. Masters racing (only in eights) will take place on the evening of Saturday, June 8th. We recommend to combine the rowing camp with a visit to Prague. If you are a Masters 8+ and want to participate, we can assist in registering for the race and finding a rental boat to use, if you are unable to bring your own.
